On October 17, 2002, The HistoryMakers honored their 2002 interviewees at The Salute To The HistoryMakers ceremony at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Illinois. The ceremony and dinner were held in conjunction with An Evening With Ossie Davis & Ruby Dee. The Salute occurred prior to the event. Julieanna Richardson, founder of The HistoryMakers, served as master of ceremonies. Darryl Dennard introduced the honorees.
