Herb and Sheran Wilkins Reception

On Saturday, October 24, 2009, The HistoryMakers celebrated Herb and Sheran Wilkins in recognition of their gift to The HistoryMakers of $1 million and the naming into perpetuity of the Herb and Sheran Wilkins MediaMakers at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. The event included a reception, dinner and program. The program featured Toni Cook Bush, Chair, Board of Directors, The HistoryMakers; Julieanna Richardson, Founder and Executive Director of The HistoryMakers; Herb Wilkins, Jr.; Robert Johnson; Maurita Coley; and Melva Nowell. A video montage of Herb Wilkins' HistoryMakers interview was shown. The evening ended with the presentation of a statue designed by Richard Hunt.
